Tried using it today and the pump would say "please wait. Tried a few times and then it told me to wait 24 hours. I'm already done with this. I'm Uninstalling after this review. Come on now!! You are better than this. The update is horrible!! I liked being able to quickly look at the map and see the prices for gas stations in my area - now I have to click on each one individually to find prices. Very tedious and annoying. As well as curated coupons daily to your inbox.
Forgot password? Wouldn't recognize account. I tried to sign up using my pre-established Sinclair account which it says to do, only it didn't recognize me. So I tried to sign up, and it told me my email already existed.
This app is a joke you can't even use it if you have a debit card because it wants to run your card for all the money in the world every time I've tried to go and use pay at the pump it tells me I'm too far away even when I have the pump in my hand or it won't let me use my card that's set up that it has been used in there before it keeps telling me insufficient funds even though I have hundreds of dollars on the card I'll just use the competition right next door BP at least there's works.
This Sinclair app was wonderful. You could pull up to the pump and quickly authorize the pump, it was intuitive easy and slick. But just a couple weeks ago they changed the app to add advertisements and now it is torture. They had to put advertising on it so you could buy a bunch of crap on the card. Sinclair, make the app intuitive again. Make it easy to see without glasses. Put it back to the way it was-Blah!
I installed the app put my credit card number once at home then at the pump and still did not receive the 10 cents a gallon discount. What a rip!!!! This lame company changes their discounts without justification. After I downloaded it yesterday, I got as far as the screen to enter your payment information, which said it could not except two of the most popular card companies—including VISA, which mine is. I opened it today to try again, but it just brought up the photo of the station at night—no clickable icons.
Clicking random spots on the screen did nothing and the screensaver never went away. Might give it another go, and will change my review if I have better luck next time—but, for now, it seems my gut feeling that even 10 cents off per gallon was too good to be true seems spot-on.
Doesn't work. Keep trying to use the app and keep getting error message that there's problem with getting payment method to work. I have only ever been able to use it once. Usually have to reboot my phone at least once and can take 15 minutes or longer to actually use.
Obviously not going to wait that long. I filled up and was supposed to get the app discount and a mobile pay discount. I got neither.
Same price at the pump. I tap the customer support link only to see that that page is not active. I contacted them another way and left a message never to have it returned. I even tapped the link on this app site, just below the link where I make this review. Had the app for months. I got to the point where I would drive out of my way to find a Sinclair gas station Until recently. The App is now arguable the most buggy app I've ever seen or heard of and not sure why.
Tried deleting and downloading which didn't help. I literally haven't been able to use the app for about a month now. I have since switched to using my BP app which is way more functional and less buggy. I now drive past the Sinclair and go out of my way to find a BP station. It was easy to set it up and add my payment. Where this app fails is logging me out, location finder and pay outside.
I went to use the app and it requested me to sign in. Why do I have to sign in each time? When I was finally able to locate the station, the pay outside indicates I was too far away. I had to just pay with the same CC I used in the app, so no discount for me. Would absolutely NOT recommend this app, as it is dishonest.
Good job Sinclair, you got me. Nice work harvesting my info and giving a lousy experience. The 10 cent off for downloading the app is an absolutely cruel joke. With the app you can only fill up gas worth a dollar 0. Please don't bother downloading the app, its a waste of time.
I don't know if they have it written in small print somewhere or its a plain lie, either way I don't care. Either learn to market the app better or don't bother at all.
I tried 3 times on 2 different pumps thinking it would be an error, turns out it's not and these guys are simply lying. Authorizing then cancels transaction. Won't even work inside. Please fix! I tried to Pay Inside for a purchase and the reader would not accept the generated QR code. This is the 2nd failed attempt to use you system. Fix the bugs!!!!! I installed this app because they promised a 10 cent discount on every gallon. This was very promising for someone who has to fill up a 38 gallon tank on a very frequent basis.
So far, I have filled up the tank three times since installing the app and have never received a discount. Sinclair acknowledged the problem and promised a 20 cent discount on my next fill up to make up for it.
The app never worked to pay at the pump. I could not get the discount on gas. But I could swipe and use the card no problem. Contacted customer support. They suggested re entering the card. Next they told me my account had been flagged and to try back in a couple of weeks… Just gave up and deleted the app.
I appreciate the price at the pump. The app needs work! The app is always having problems so I end up paying regular price.. This is the most confusing app I have ever used. I cannot get it to work. The app rarely works or the gas station won't accept it. It's a waste of time. Can't process payment. Tried different payment method, didn't work and locked me out for 24 hrs. Tried to setup Mobile Advantage but Keeps asking to download the app while I'm already in the downloaded app??
Sinclair isn't big enough to have their own developed app. Unfortunately this app is a hunk of junk. Can't get it to accept any of my three phone numbers. Discount is hit and miss. Ap keeps turning pumps off and have to log back in. Promo cards are added and the arrangement of Home cards can be ordered. Offers are now store specific and ui enhancements to offers.
